My Story

The ride is done and the effort expended! Whew.

Whilst Darby and I have completed our stint, the main group rides onto Melbourne with a finish set for Wednesday 8 May. That will be the culmination of 1,400 kilometres in the saddle - ouch!.

We're still seeking donations to this worthwhile and significant cause. The generosity of those who have donated has seen us exceed our initial fundraising target. Thank you.

We'll continue on the mission for a while yet so please give generously and we do appreciate the support.

In April 2019, we will be cycling 1,400 km over ten days in the Salvos’ Red Shield Ride from Sydney to Melbourne to help make a difference to people in our community that are struggling.

Funds raised will help disadvantaged people without discrimination, including people who are hungry, homeless, abandoned or abused.
$60 helps provide a food hamper; $107 pays for crisis accommodation for a homeless person for one day; $750 provides a safe place for one week for a person fleeing a family violence situation.
